+Benrus Watches ship within 1 week after ordering
Continuing to dive deep into their catalog of watches, Benrus is proud to bring back their most popular dive watch of the 1960s – The Ultra-Deep. Throughout the 60s, diving as a recreational sport boomed and the brand saw a huge increase in interest in their sea-faring watch lineup. Based on the original model, this reissue is true to form, measuring in at a compact and comfortable 36.5mm.
One look at the Ultra-Deep and you’d think you’ve found a new-old-stock watch that’s spent its life stashed away safely in a drawer. Benrus stuck with their original winning formula. The 36.5mm case is crafted from 316L stainless steel and measures in at just 41.5mm lug-to-lug and a height of 13.8mm. The height includes a double domed acrylic crystal with a unique internal date magnifier, making it easy to read. Vintage enthusiasts will love the warmth that an acrylic crystal gives off. A black dial is treated with a mix of white printed details and aged lume that adds just a hint of contrast. Cathedral-style hands point to the hours and minutes, while an arrow-pointed seconds hand rotates around the dial.
Since the Ultra-Deep is a dive watch, you’ll find an internal rotating bezel that’s operated by the secondary crown on the right side of the case. The case is water resistant to 20 ATM or 666 feet, as printed on the dial just above the 6 o’clock index.
Inside the watch, a reliable Swiss-made Soprod P024 caliber keeps the time. An automatic movement, it features 25-jewels, hacking, hand winding, quick set date, 38 hours of power reserve, and a frequency of 28,800 bph.
The Ultra-Deep ships on a 5 link jubilee-style bracelet crafted from brushed and polished stainless steel. A sturdy signed clasp keeps the watch secured to your wrist. When purchasing from the Windup Watch Shop, you’ll also receive an 18mm ADPT Mil Strap in “Denim” blue – perfect for your next underwater adventure.
